The Mountain House Manali is a beautiful mud-house set-up in the middle of an apple orchard in Vashisht village. The property is not connected via road and that's the beauty of it! The place is a 20 minute uphill walk/hike from Vashisht Temple.
The route is scenic and gives you the best views of surrounding areas like Old Manali, Shanag, Goshal and Jogni Waterfall. From the property, you can also see Friendship Peak and 7 Sisters Peak.

We try to source as many items as possible from the locals. This gives them an opportunity to earn and helps us provide you top quality products.
Be it milk or desi ghee or hand woven socks - it's locally sourced and is simply the best!
If you are staying with us for month long, you can take Milk and ghee for that month from the locals directly.
You can pack desi ghee for home too when you leave.

We have 2 standard rooms with shared balcony.
DELUXE ROOM WITH PRIVATE VEARANDAH
We have 1 deluxe room with private verandah.
ATTIC ROOM WITH PRIVATE BALCONY
We have 1 attic room (can accommodate upto 4 people) with private balcony.
GETTING HERE
If you are coming by cab or auto, ask them to drop you at Vashisht temple.
If you are coming by your own car, then we shall assist you with parking.
Once you reach the temple, we arrange for porters who will take your luggage and drop it till the property. The payment to the porters is made directly by the guests.
The ideal time to reach Vashisht Temple is 9am to 4pm. Outside of this window, finding a porter who will carry your luggage will not be possible and the walk will feel tiring too (*considering travel fatigue).

PLEASE NOTE
The walk is an uphill walk (considering the location). There are stairs throughout the route and it could feel like a short hike to you. If you are reaching the property in the dark by any chance and/or the weather conditions are not good, it might be overwhelming/difficult. So, please come prepared.
The average time our guests take to reach the property is 20 minutes. But you can take even an hour to reach. And that is absolutely fine. You are requested to follow your pace and keep peace with it. It is advisable to carry water and some munchies or anything else you might need as per your fitness level.
